Lectures: Oral History and Passenger Lists
Billie Stone Fogarty, M. Ed. is a professional genealogist who frequently lectures to family history enthusiasts and genealogists across the country. She is currently president of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the world’s largest organization for professional genealogists with members in forty countries. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Historical Society, Oklahoma Genealogical Society, and is the Oklahoma State Liaison for the Records Access and Preservation Committee. She holds membership in a variety of genealogically and historically related groups and has served many of those in leadership roles, including as president of the Genealogical Speakers Guild.
A sixth generation Oklahoman and former history teacher, genealogy is Billie’s passion as well as profession. She has researched in the major archives and genealogical libraries as well as county courthouses and libraries across the country since 1979. An advocate for lifelong education, she continues to seek learning through participation in genealogical institutes, conferences, and seminars both as a student and as an instructor.
